Introducing the Conservation Works Video Series

NatureServe’s new video series highlights the conservation actions our products support???and the people who help make them effective, such as Carmen Josse, senior ecologist at NatureServe, part of the team who collaborated with local organizations to develop distribution maps for a wide range of species, including many heavily restricted endemics, and to map ecological systems across the Andes-Amazon region.

Our partners and supporters know that NatureServe’s data tell stories that are critical to protecting biodiversity. But for those outside the fold, data can be hard enough to understand, much less love.

Conservation Works, our new video series, profiles key projects with the goal of giving people unfamiliar with our work a reason to care about it. Narrated in a direct and approachable style by the expert staff and network members leading our efforts, these six- to seven-minute vignettes spotlight our most interesting initiatives while making a case for how our tools, strategies, and methods help protect rare and endangered species and threatened habitats across the Western hemisphere.

The first two episodes have launched, detailing the origins and adoption of the NatureServe Climate Change Vulnerability Index and an ongoing series of projects in the Andes-Amazon region dating back to 2005. Watch these and future clips in the series on NatureServe’s YouTube Channel.
