About Us


Where a single mangrove may be vulnerable, the intricate intertwining of many mangroves’ roots provides resilience. In a similar way, EBM Tools is powerful because we are a network of practitioners.The Ecosystem-Based Management (EBM) Tools Network, coordinated by NatureServe and OpenChannels.org, is a 6,700+ member network of coastal, marine, and other conservation and management practitioners working to promote healthy ecosystems and communities through the use of tools that help incorporate ecosystem considerations into management. 

Started in 2006, the EBM Network works to connect practitioners with appropriate tools through a wide range of outreach and training activities. The EBM Network involves the active participation of tool experts from a wide variety of organizations including:
