Ecological Systems Data

NatureServe Explorer now includes searchable data on the nearly 600 ecological systems of the United States as defined by NatureServe. Ecological systems represent recurring groups of biological communities that are found in similar physical environments and are influenced by similar dynamic ecological processes, such as fire or flooding. These data are in addition to the finer-scale classification of ecological communities already available on this site. .
