NatureServe Canada Unveils its Strategic Plan 2023-28

Adopted at the Annual General Meeting on June 8, 2023 the new plan will provide critical guidance to direct the organization to meet its goals and objectives.

NatureServe Canada has a new vision for being the driving force behind a widespread understanding of the condition of the nation’s species and ecosystems, having adopted a new five-year plan at the organization’s Annual General Meeting on June 8, 2023.

NatureServe Canada envisions a world where the natural heritage of Canada is documented, where that information is readily available to current and future generations, and where the conservation of biodiversity and resource decision-making in Canada are guided by high quality, consistent, credible, and current scientific data and information,” the plan says.

The NatureServe Canada Strategic Plan 2023-2028 provides critical guidance that will help the organization attain its objectives and goals.

Scientific Reports

NatureServe Canada works with its member and partner organizations to develop scientific publications that leverage and highlight the NatureServe Network’s biodiversity information.

NatureServe Canada sponsored the Mapping ecological data and status of grizzly bears (Ursus arctos) in Canada report in order to work with provincial, territorial and federal government and NGO partners to document the current methods used to determine and map grizzly bear distribution, abundance, trend and status in Canada. NatureServe Canada is interested to work with partners to determine if a national methodology could be developed in order to standardize this work and so improve the understanding and management of this and other wide-ranging species.
