Biotics 4: Data Exchange

The NatureServe Conservation Services Division is responsible for completing element data exchanges between the central database and the subnational databases for every member program in Canada and the United States. The data exchange process benefits the entire network, providing current rangewide data for all the elements a program tracks and supporting the development of multi-jurisdictional data (MJD) products to inform conservation decision-making.

Use of the comprehensive element occurrence data set assembled through data exchanges is governed by the terms of existing data sharing agreements between NatureServe and each member program. NatureServe will not provide fine-scale MJD products without written permission from your program.

The downloadable files below are the current documents needed by member programs participating in the data exchange or EO update process.

Please direct general questions about the data exchange to Margaret Ormes (617.542.1908x243).
For any technical questions, please submit a support ticket to the Help Desk.
