Future Plans for NatureServe Vista

NatureServe plans to continue supporting and evolving Vista indefinitely. There are no new versions under development at this time but we will continue addressing priority improvements as resources allow.

We also have an extensive list of desired improvements and expansions of the software that will increase performance for large regions, assist usability through online collaborative information sharing, and add functionality. Consistent with our approach to build interoperating toolkits rather than super tools, much of Vista’s expanded functionality will come through other tools. We are currently working on a companion tool to support offsite mitigation planning and are investigating other tools in ecosystem services and return on investment analyses.

Maintaining and enhancing user friendly systems like Vista is an expensive endeavor and we are always seeking partnerships with those that desire new capabilities and have resources to make them happen. If you would like to discuss such partnership opportunities please contact us.
