Rob Solomon, Software Support Program Manager, develops and manages NatureServe’s IT and user support program. In addition, he oversees Software as a Service (SaaS) infrastructure planning and maintenance, and product development and maintenance for NatureServe’s software applications. Some of these applications include Biotics, the Kestrel Observations Data Management System, and the Environmental Review Tool product lines. Prior to NatureServe, Rob served as Acting Director of Conservation Systems at The Nature Conservancy. In this role, he provided leadership for the Conservation Science Information Department. and oversaw the development of data management procedures and related software products supporting conservation data management practices.
Rob completed graduate coursework from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Community Design and Planning from the School of Landscape Architecture. He also obtained his Bachelor’s from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, in Forest Biology, Cum Laude. Some of his publications include, but are not limited to, a report on “Ecological Classification of Florida Bay Using the Coastal Marine Ecological Classification Standard (CMECS) Version III,” and “Rapid ecological assessment for conservation planning.”
