Biodiversity Without Boundaries 2011

Join us in Nebraska!

Biodiversity Without Boundaries is held in a different site each year, to place regionally focused topics within their context and to enable people from different areas to attend a relatively local event. Each conference is co-hosted by NatureServe and the network member program(s) in the area, bringing together an international scope with a local view to further enhance the conference experience.

Hotel

The next Biodiversity Without Boundaries will be held May 9–12, 2011, at the famous Lied Lodge and Conference Center, an educational complex designed for the Arbor Day Foundation to serve as a resource for conservation-related organizations. The lodge is located in historic Nebraska City, Nebraska, approximately an hour south of Omaha and an hour east of Lincoln. All conference sessions and regular meals will be held at the lodge.

Conference attendees are responsible for arranging their own accommodations. The hotel is holding a block of rooms at special conference rates: $77/night for a single room, $87/night for a double room. These discounted room rates may not apply if reservations are made outside the NatureServe room block. The discounted rates apply to reservations made for dates within the time period of Saturday, May 7, 2011, through Thursday, May 12, 2011. Reservations must be made by 5pm CT, April 16, 2011, to qualify for the discount; after that time, rates and space are not guaranteed. Reserve your room by either emailing information@arbordayfarm.org or calling 402-873-8733. Be sure to mention NatureServe to get the special discounted rates.

Directions

Centrally located, with easy access from Omaha, Lincoln, or Kansas City. Detailed directions are available at www.liedlodge.org. If travelling by air, Omaha’s Eppley Airfield is the nearest commercial airport, located 45 miles from Nebraska City. Check Out is 11:00 AM Mon-Sat, 12:00 Noon on Sunday. Cancellations are by 4 PM, 3 days (72-hours) prior to arrival. Special Event and Holiday cancellations are by 4 PM, 2 weeks prior to arrival.

Transportation

Airport Shuttle: Lied Lodge provides a shuttle from and to the Omaha Airport (OMA) for a cost of $27 each way. To arrange shuttle service, please call 1-800-546-5433, or reserve your shuttle online at least seven days prior to your arrival.

Car Rental: All major car rental companies service the Omaha Airport. The Lied Lodge is located just a few miles off Interstate 29, approximately 50 miles south of Omaha.

Field Trips: Transportation will be provided for all conference-sponsored excursions away from the lodge.
