The United Nations declared 2010 the International Year of Biodiversity in order to “showcase the contribution of research to the understanding of biodiversity and to policies and management practices that help to stop its loss.” Biodiversity Without Boundaries 2010 brought together conservation leaders, thinkers, and practitioners from across political and organizational boundaries for a stimulating conference that showcased the same.

Latin America & Caribbean Conservation Conference

Held August 25–27, 2008, in Panamá City, Panamá

NatureServe’s Latin America and the Caribbean Network—the Regional Alliance for Information About Threatened Biodiversity (ARRIBA)—and the Asociación Nacional para la Conservación de la Naturaleza (ANCON) organized a Latin America & Caribbean Conservation Conference where members from the ARRIBA network came together for discussion, planning, training, and professional networking related to conservation of threatened biodiversity in Latin America and the Caribbean.
