Leader to Leader Training

Through a generous contribution from American Express Foundation, we are able to offer customized leadership training to 20 participants from among NatureServe member programs and staff. Participants will emerge with a suite of knowledge and practices that increases their leadership effectiveness in their current sphere of influence and builds a foundation for future leadership roles. This will enhance the entire network by developing a self-renewing pool of next-generation leaders, communities of leadership practice, and strengthened network connectivity and effectiveness. Natural Heritage Methodology Training

Natural Heritage Methodology Training (NHMT) is your opportunity to learn the fundamentals of all aspects of natural heritage methodology, from data collection to data management and data use. It also provides a foundation for understanding the different roles and functions of natural heritage programs and to understand how your work fits into the larger picture.

NHMT is recommended for all employees of NatureServe member programs, especially within their first year of employment, and is also open to partner organizations that work closely with natural heritage data.

The four-day training is generally offered once per year. The next session will be March 2-5, 2010 and participants can choose to attend one of three sites: NatureServe headquarters in Arlington, VA; the Colorado Natural Heritage Program in Fort Collins, CO; or the Massachusetts Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program in Westborough, MA.
