Preserving the evolutionary history and ecological functions that different species embody, in addition to species themselves, is a growing concern for conservation. Recent studies warn that conservation priority regions identified using species diversity differ from those based on phylogenetic or functional diversity.PublicationJournal ArticleNature Ecology and Evolution
The purpose of this document is to present a replicable model for mangrove ecosystem management based on collaborative planning efforts in the mangrove forests of the Ramsar designated Alvarado Lagoon System (ALS), Veracruz, Mexico.PublicationScientific ReportIntegrating Stakeholders in Mangrove Assessment and Management Planning, A Model Based on Collaborative Planning in Veracruz Mexico

This second edition provides an update of the rarest bryophytes in Quebec, those with a NatureServe rank of SX, SH, or S1. Compared to 2010 edition, this update is based on a dramatically more detailed knowledge of Quebec’s bryophyte flora. Additional rare taxa certainly remain to be found, but the pace of these discoveries is expected to decline over time. Similarly, additional occurrences of bryophytes considered to be rare will certainly be found, and this will inevitably reduce the number of these taxa.PublicationScientific Report
Conservation status and threat assessments evaluate species’ relative risks of extinction globally, regionally, nationally, or locally and estimate the degree to which populations of species are already safeguarded in existing conservation systems, with the aim of exposing the critical gaps in current conservation.PublicationBook ChapterNorth American Crop Wild Relatives: Conservation and Use

This chapter assesses scenarios of future land degradation and restoration in terms of change in: (i) soil properties; (ii) biodiversity; and (iii) ecosystem services as a result of human activities up to 2050.PublicationJournal ArticleSecretariat of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services
Targeting conservation actions efficiently requires information on vulnerability of and threats to conservation targets, but such information is rarely included in conservation plans.PublicationJournal ArticleLandscape and Urban Planning

The objectives of this project are to understand current trends in climate change across the western conterminous United States, assess the potential impact of these changes on major vegetation types of high importance to BLM management, and interpret these changes to assist BLM in determining climate smart management strategies.PublicationScientific ReportU.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management
