Atlanta Botanical Garden's Southeastern Center for Conservation hosted botanists from NatureServe and Natural Heritage Network Programs from southeastern states for a ranking workshop facilitated by NatureServe.

The Conservation of North American Native Grapes, a collaboration that includes NatureServe, recently gathered a multidisciplinary group of experts to develop a framework for the conservation of North American native grapes.

NatureServe Ecologists presented at the Resilient Forest Management Training, aimed at park managers and staff to address major challenges to the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic park forests.

Nearly 1,000 pollinator species, including bees and flower flies, were assessed and ranked for their risk of extinction by a team of NatureServe Network scientists representing several northeastern states. This new tool, which is built using NatureServe's Environmental Review Tool framework, combines key environmental datasets into a centralized, map-based application to help address environmental issues in New Mexico.

Purple crowberry, a diminutive alpine shrub that hasn't been seen in Vermont in over a century, has been rediscovered on Mt. Mansfield. "This is an extraordinary find," said Bob Popp, a botanist with the Vermont Natural Heritage Inventory. The discovery was made by Liam Ebner, a trained summit steward with the Adirondack Mountain Club.

The Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission uses natural heritage data to prioritize land acquisition for Arkansas's System of Natural Areas. They recently acquired their 79th preserve—the 540-acre Goat's Beard Bluff Natural Area. This rugged tract on the Alum Fork of the Saline River in the Ouachita Mountains includes ¾ mile of this important river and supports important ecosystems and several imperiled species.
