The devastating consequences have been swift and widespread for many North American plants and animals. American Bumble Bees in particular have declined steeply over the past 20 years.
As a vital pollinator in many ecosystems—from deserts to prairies and grasslands—the disappearance of American Bumble Bees could devastate natural communities, many of which provide food, medicine, and other raw materials upon which human life depends.
The good news is that due to a U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Review, American Bumble Bees may receive federal protection under the Endangered Species Act soon. But you can act to save them now.
