Restoration, Mitigation and Compliance

Effective restoration and mitigation activities reestablish healthy, functioning ecosystems. But what do “healthy” and “functioning” really mean?

NatureServe guides restoration and mitigation projects by helping our partners identify the best areas for mitigation and restoration; the right species composition and ecosystem functions that need to be reestablished; and the appropriate methods for assessing the condition of restored ecosystems and measuring success. Our science-driven approach helps make every dollar and hour spent on mitigation and restoration count.
