Conservation Planning and Analysis

Conservation Planning and Analysis training sessions are focused on improving skills in support of conservation planning, and the effective use of supporting tools.

Systematic Conservation Planning

Learn about the evolving field of systematic conservation planning for biodiversity conservation. This field has been rapidly changing over the past two decades, and numerous methods, tools, and techniques have been developed. Advancing conservation goals and objectives requires the use of biodiversity, land use, and threat information to systematically assess trends in conservation status and construct scenarios. This course will use examples from continental to regional-scale projects in terrestrial and aquatic realms.

Ecological-Based Management (EBM) Tools Network Webinars

The Ecosystem-Based Management (EBM) Tools Network is a premier source of information about planning and management tools in the United States and internationally. Its mission is to promote healthy ecosystems and communities through the use of tools that help incorporate ecosystem-based thinking into management decisions. Monthly training webinars provide information on methods and software that help practitioners incorporate scientific and socioeconomic information into decision making. Currently, the three focus areas of this network are climate change vulnerability assessment and adaptation planning, ecosystem-based coastal and marine spatial planning, and integrated land-sea planning to minimize the impacts of land use on coastal and marine environments.
