The FIFRA Endangered Species Task Force (FESTF) has licensed data from NatureServe since 2008. Under this Data License Agreement (DLA) signed by NatureServe and FESTF, NatureServe provides FESTF with secure access to data developed by the NatureServe Network for species that have a status under the U.S. Endangered Species Act (ESA) (hereinafter “Licensed Dataset”). Use of this Licensed Dataset by FESTF supports the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requirements under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) related to risk assessments of potential impacts of FESTF member company products on any species listed or proposed for listing as threatened or endangered under ESA.
Now that you have completed the four Data Use Training modules, the next step is to carefully review the terms outlined in the DLA Summary document (see PDF available on this page). This DLA Summary includes the information relevant to NatureServe Certified Data Users accessing the Licensed Dataset through FESTF’s Licensed MJD.
After reading and agreeing to the DLA terms outlined in the DLA Summary document, you will submit your contact information below indicating that you have:
- viewed all four Data Use Training videos,
- completed the corresponding Data Use Training quizzes, and
- read and agree to the terms outlined in the DLA Summary document.
Once you submit your contact information you will become registered as a Certified Data User, and be accountable for following the DLA terms as outlined in the DLA Summary and you will receive instructions from FESTF on how to access the data.
