Bianca Pokrzywa is a communications professional with experience in nonprofit digital strategy and environmental advocacy. Prior to joining NatureServe, she led digital communications at the Environmental League of Massachusetts, where she developed multi-platform campaigns engaging people with climate and clean energy policy.
Bianca got her start in grassroots politics, which sparked her interest in how communications can bring people into the issues affecting their communities. Her conservation work has focused on translating research and data into compelling stories, and she is passionate about finding creative ways to connect people with work that often happens behind the scenes.
Now based in Boston, Bianca grew up near Detroit, Michigan, and graduated summa cum laude from Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Business Administration & Management. Outside of work, she plays the violin, piano, guitar, and bass and is a long-distance runner, often using marathon training as an excuse to experience new landscapes and spend time in nature.
